Great little fish, looking forward to seeing them grow over the following months. Tropheus is one thing I have never tried but I hope to one day. It's amazing seeing the transition from juv to adult and the change in colours and patterns.

Ian, do you have any recent photos of your altolamps? I am missing my old wilds. Thinking about getting some more soon.

Curious how these turned out for you. They gotta be getting big by now?

i'll try to get some pics up soon for updates. my altos are doing great. slowly getting bigger all the time. i haven't had the tank space to try to breed them yet unfortunately but that may change soon. my kigomas haven't had any spawns recently but are doing great. i had my first successful moba spawn earlier this year but haven't had any since. my tropheus are doing fantastic. i've only lost 1 of the 26 i started with. they're breeding now and the fry sell as fast as they can make them. my shell dwellers are fry factories as well.

i've had some bad luck the past year. i lost most of my cyps in a power outage. i had a strange disease develop in my leleupi breeding tank and lost the parents and about half of my fry. i also lost my daffodil male randomly and my super red bushy nose pleco to fin rot. all of these things happened in different tanks. it's been pretty demoralizing, so i haven't been online as much. i'm still keeping up on my tank maintenance and changing water like a mad man though. that might be the most frustrating part when you know you go above and beyond to care for your fish and you start losing them.

on a more positive side, most of my fish are breeding more rapidly than i'd like them to, but i guess that's a good problem to have. for a while my fry sales were pretty slow and i was getting overwhelmed with fry but fortunately thing have picked up quite a bit and i'm running low on a lot of stuff which is a huge relief.

i'm starting to get the itch to get some new fish and ramp things up again. i've been clearing out a few species and trying to make room for some new stuff so things are getting exciting again. i got a couple great books on tropheus for Xmas and they've got me craving a new colony of Kasanga red rainbows. hopefully i'll track some down soon. i'm also in the market for a couple pelvicachromis taeniatus species (lobe and moliwe) and a couple more species of julidiochromis. i'm lucky enough to live near a fantastic catfish breeder so i'll be getting another male L144 super red bushy nose in a week or so as well as some baby L182 starlight bushy nose plecos. obviously i'll get some pics up to show off once i get them. i'll keep you guys posted.
