Does not look like a spotted ancitrus type such as 183 or 182. The spots are too crisp.

Does not look like a vampire 129 or 007, the head structure looks wrong.

Its hard to tell because i can't tell the size of the fish, and its fins are clamped.

It looks more like a Hypancistrus to me such as 102, 201, inspector, contradens etc.

Not a Baryancistrus (gold nugget), though 115 and 142 does not have edging, it does not have this head shape.

Its either a spotted Hypancistrus type, or maybe a young Leporacanthicus (Vampire/Galaxy).
Without another picture showing the tail and dorsal, thats what i'm going with.better

If they sold it to you as a L142, then I'd go with that, unless it stays at 3 inches.
Gold Nuggets get nearly 12 inches.
