Been checkin out some bottom feeders and came across an attractive looking catfish called the synodontis petricola. Def like to pick some up for my front tank but read that they will eat front eggs if given the chance. Didn't know if anyone has any input as to whether or not it would be a good idea to try em out or not. Def like my scavengers in my tanks, but like to keep my fronts producing too! Any other suggestions are appreciated too! I have 11 Burundi/Tanzanian in a 225g. Thanks everyone

Synodontis petricola, and synodontis multipunctatus will eat the eggs.

I like the synodontis multipunctatus better when it comes to catfish. They are more out going. They even get a little crazy when you have 4 or more in your tank.

i have 8 petricolas in my front tank, but i have juvie fronts so their egg eating tendencies do not bother me.
I like em very much, i've read they only steal some eggs, so your fronts will still produce, just not as much!

Petricola are a dwarf catfish, not only will they eat eggs, they are very small, so your frontosa will choke on the spines when it tries to eat them.
a very poor choice for a frontosa tank, much more suited for a mbuna or Vic tank.

What about clown loaches? I'm just trying to find some scavengers to clean up mainly frozen krill n mysis that I feed my fronts. I have a diamond place in there now but no way he can keep up w a 225g tank.
