My Calico short fin male crossed with one of my albino females. Not sure if it was my shortfin or longfin females. I have unloaded all but 2 pairs of albino's because, well they breed like convicts and i'm trying to work with calico's now.

My current bushynose breeding program is this in 2 tanks.
Tank 1.
Shortfin Calico male, Longfin Albino female, Shortfin Albino female.

Tank 2.
Shortfin Albino male, Longfin Albino female.

Ideally I would have all longfin calicos, but this is what i have now to work with.

At any rate, the Calico male kicked the eggs out of the cave last night, so i hatched them today, ill try to get pix or vids up later.

I'm wondering what the fry will look like?
I know Regular is dominant over Albino, and I assume Regular is dominant over Calico.
Short fin is dominant over Longfin, so all the fry should be shortfins.
I have no idea what the grandparents of the pairs are.

My guess would be all the fry will end up being short fin regulars.

Course anybody who has raised bushynose for awhile knows that bushynose don't follow the rules of genetics.
I have seen albino pairs throw regular colored fry, and in theory that should not happen.

These fry have just hatched, last night they were only egg, no body at all. Grow alot faster than frontosa.

They are now about 6 days old.
Looks to be 20 fry, about 10 albino and 10 "normal".
"normal" in that i can't tell if they are going to be Calico or Standard color.
They also appear to be all shortfins.

In order to have albino fry, then that would mean that the Calico had to be heterozygous for Albinism.
Course as i stated before bushynose violate the rules of genetics.

Ill try to get picks up tonight, battery died.

about 7 days old.
They look like they are going to be calico vs. standard coloration.
