NOTE TO ALL: An article by Ad Konings worth reading for everybody is the fish hobby should read:

http://www.cichlidae.com/section.php?id=279[/quote]

I'd like to make a special request that:
1) Everyone read this and share this.
2) NOBODY purchase wild Tanzania Murago Tropheus.
3) Importers, would you please consider telling your importer that you will refuse this fish and share this article with him.
4) Also for Importers, please consider sharing this with your piers.

Thank you to Frank Meuller for catching this and sharing it on another forum.

Respectfully,
Russ

Inevitable eventually I guess. It's not even a particularly striking variant. If it was Bulu Point or Ikola I could understand more, but they are probably more abundant. These were offered on a recent list (last month) that I saw which would suggest they are still being collected.
There are probably many more small localised variants of this nature which are yet to be discovered.

This is sad and I have always thought this might happen. Between over fishing, the nets the people are using from the shore to fish with I hope we don't lose more fish from out of the lake. :(

interesting that African Diving LTD wanted to "preserve" the location to save the species.
same company that was closed down for poaching.
