I would suggest leaving him in the 55 all by himself until he shows serious signs of recovery.

Make sure he has someplace to hide (completely out of sight). A 4" (diameter) piece of PVC would be perfect (perhaps a "wye"). Sometimes hardware stores do not have PVC / ABS that big - you can find it at a local plumbing supply house where plumbers and contractors by their materials for projects.

As far as Epsom Salt goes, I would suggest the following:
Day 1: 1 tbsp of Epsom on each side of the tank = 2 tbsp
Day 2: repeat dose
Day 3: repeat dose.

Try to keep the lights off as much as possible.

Again, best wishes!!!!

Russ

Yes, that is what I would do.

I would suggest starting some Internal Parasite treatment as well just in case. your LFS should be able to suggest something.

Well ive been feeding my front Beefheart plus and he eats the heck out of it. Thanks for that tip. They didn't have the brine shrimp with the springline or however its spelled but the guy said this is just as good if not better. I told him what it was for and he suggested it. My front seems to like it and he is a lot more active. Looks to be getting better and putting weight back on also. Can't wait untill he is healthy again. For my background im going to my local furniture store and seeing if they have some extra styrofom left over that i can have to make my background with. Cheap and easy for that. Plus i can grab different shapes and sizes for less cutting and easier all together. Cant wait to get started. i get my tank Saturday!!!

Sounds like you have him on the mend. Good luck with this background and tank.
