For the most part this is correct, there are however about 10 more spots that have been collected.

Cool, I can move forward. It is possible that in the future we may add new collection points to the map.

Some of the ones i'm thinking about are not common points, but have been collected.
There will be more to add, as not every spot on the lake has even been checked.

Not to hijack, but i figure this is a good place to talk about scientific nomenclature.

When writing a scientific name the Genus is capitalized and the species is lower case such as...

Cyphotilapia frontosa or C. gibberosa.
when using species name alone one can use either upper or lower case, such as frontosa or Frontosa.

So using mpimbwe as an example we have...
Cyphotilapia gibberosa "Mpimbwe".

I'm not sure why Burundi gets away without using a collection point, but rather the whole country.

So in reality C. frontosa "Burundi" is somewhat incorrect it should be one of the Burundi collection points such as C. frontosa "Rumonge" or C. frontosa "Magara", or one of the other many Burundi collection points.

Perhaps because Burundi is the oldest import and we rarely even see true wild Burundi anymore people simply write them as C. frontosa "Burundi".
Which would not fly if we put C. gibberosa "Zaire".
people want the collection point for all other types, but seem to let it slide with Burundi types.

Really since Burundi really have mixed frontosa blood, they should be....
C. frontosa spp. or C. frontosa "Burundi type".

got a couple more to add while i was collecting fish with Ad Konings this past week.
I did not write them down, just what i remember.

molwe, chituta, mamalesa island, mbita island.
Bujumbura, Luhanga, Pemba, Gitaza, Kolobo, Kabimba, Kasenga.

molwe i knew already.

he said the mbita is smaller then other types with a big head, and very mean.

thats 4 more, there is more.
now the other site can copy, if they even have a map.
they will have this info without having to do any research.

I think that sentence requires a little elaboration if you don't mind!

i will be adding a thread sometime and some pix.

Its all about future collecting trips for people leading to a trip to Tanganyika with or without Ad Konings.

I have been working on starting trips to collect cichlids in california, hawaii, texas, florida, SA/CA, and africa.
Its tough research collecting beautiful cichlids but someone has to do it!!!

Here is a link to some of my........florida cichlid research!!!!

I have to see if Ad Konings will let me use some of his pictures, as obviously he takes better pix and has better camera and lens then i do.
I think his lens alone cost 5x more than my camera did, and he has 20 plus years taking cichlid pix.
At any rate i will post some of my pix, and he will at least be putting pix of our collecting up in a upcoming issue of cichlid news.

I was able to swim with Paretroplus nourissati "Lamena" and get crappy film of them underwater.
This was huge for me, this is a rare endangered cichlid from madagascar that when breeding is very red.
I don't believe that anyone else has underwater film of them, or even if anyone else has seen them spawn, or has pictures of fry.
So that was really the biggest excitement of my trip.
that alone makes me want to go back and get better pix and video of this fish.
When in spawning mode, "Lamena" to me is the best looking cichlid out there.
I hope to get pix and video up tonight.
