I'm going to be setting up a 125g here in the next few months. I'm getting the tank this weekend. Now my question is which kind of filtration system should i use? A Sump or a canister filter? And which would be more cost effective for a 125g? This tank now is not drilled for a sump or anything so my question is should i get an fx5 or put a sump on it? and if a sump how would i go about doing it and what size tank for the sump would be great for the 125g?

If the tank is not drilled as you say an FX5 will do the trick. I would also look at a hang on the back filter along with the FX5. AC 110 is a good one to look at. I have some EX-70 that I like. It will be less money and set up time to use a canister than to drill the tank and plumb in a sump.
