Hi, I recently bought a few juvenile Frontosa, I have them housed in a 4' 240ltr until they get bigger and move into a 6'. Thay were housed with lots of various Tanganyikan fry, I thought it was a bit busy in there and they might appreciate things being a bit "quieter".
Here's how the tank looked. . .

Rounded up fish , drained tank, removed coral sand, blue background turned over to black, purchesed sand, Unipac limpopo (black) , fine grained. Not a fan of tank ornaments but the Mrs has been bringing back some plastic caves, recently a large one as a present so thought I should put them to use. The caudopunctaus are in there own tank now, the Frontosa have 6 very small multifasciatus, 6 small cylindricus, 2 alto. comp. sp. "shell" (sumbu) , along with 4 ancistrus as tank mates. I always felt the tank was to bright , 1x40w arcadia power-glo and 1x40w arcadia aqua-glo. I removed the power-glo from the rear of the tank. This morning I dug out a 14/18w marine blue actinic and placed it in trhe rear ofthe tank. It looks nice along with the white bulb but will use it on its own for evening viewing. The frontosa seem more relaxed now , swimming about in the open space and exploring the caves....

Sorry , meant to add, I think they look much better against the black background and black sand. I think the black and white bars have more contrast and more bluish in the fins. Lovin' these. Hooked . . . . :bananna
