Hi,
I've kept malawis for some time and know the importance of having caves. Being relatively new to Frontosas my question is simply does the same apply to a Frontosa set up?
I currently have plenty rocks and hiding places, but no caves which the males can claim as their own. I currently dont seem to have too much aggression, but I'm keen to make their environment the best I can to their liking.
Your experiences and comments would be much appreciated!
Many thanks in advance

you're right about having a cave or two for males to claim helps keep down aggression. fronts need plenty of open space too though so i wouldn't go too crazy with excess rock work.

I find one cave works the best. Then the alpha will claim it and there won't be a bunch of fighting for other caves. I have a couple areas where the rocks form a little bit of a cave. They've started to fight over them. The areas aren't very tall, so the winner of the territory fight will lay sideways in the cave...looks uncomfortable, but they seem to enjoy it...crazy fish, lol

I was gettong very bored with my fronts as i had lots of caves and all they did was sit in their caves,my tank looked empty most of the time,so i did the tank over and made just one cave for the alpha, now i have a lively tank and the alpha agression has dropped and the others swim around content
